MRCP (UK), FRCP (Edin), is an Emeritus Professor. He was the former Professor and Chairman, Department of Medicine and former Dean, Faculty of Medicine in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Bangladesh.

Dr. A. B. M. Abdullah, MRCP (UK), FRCP (Edin), is an Emeritus Professor. He was the former Professor and Chairman, Department of Medicine and former Dean, Faculty of Medicine in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Bangladesh. Dr. Abdullah has 42 research articles published in various national and international journals. Elsevier has published two books titled Short Cases in Clinical Medicine and Radiology in Medical Practice. He is also the author of six other medical books: ECG in Medical Practice, Case History and Data Interpretation in Medical Practice, Long Cases in Clinical Medicine, Practical Manual in Clinical Medicine, Practical Standard Prescriber and Covid-19 Guideline: Expert Insights, Global Research.
He is writing regularly about the common medical problems to educate the general people, which are published in several renowned daily newspapers. Three books written by him designed for the general people have also been published. Dr. Abdullah is a member of the editorial and advisory board for Davidson’s Principles and Practice of Medicine, 24th Ed. For his research and academic activities, he is honoured by 15 awards: University Grants Commission Award 2013 for the book Short Cases in Clinical Medicine; Ekushey Padak 2016 which is a prestigious state award; Mercantile Bank Award, 2016; Bangla Darpan Sommanona, 2016; Honorary Fellowship by Bangla Academy, 2017; Kalerkantha Gunijan Shommanona, 2020; Covid-19 Hero Gold Award, 2021; ATN Bangla Uonnoyon Award, 2021; Bangabandhu Research Award, 2021; South Asia Partnership Award, 2021; Cardiovascular Research Foundation Award, 2022; DeeTV Lifetime Achievement Award, 2022; Lifetime Achievement Award, 2023 by Bangladesh Cardiac Society; Diabetic Association Achievement Award, 2023 by Lifespring Foundation; and Meher Kabir Biggan Shahitto Award, 2023 by Bangla Academy.
For his contribution in medical science and research work, he is appointed as Emeritus Professor in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Bangladesh since 12 February 2022.
